An Enjoyable Faith-Building Experience

Via de Cristo, a Spanish phrase meaning “Way of Christ,” has been an active Lutheran movement since 1972.  Three-day weekends in the spring and fall start on Thursday evening and conclude Sunday afternoon.  Any past attendee can provide information and an application for attendance.

Upcoming weekends at scenic Camp Lutherhill near La Grange, TX are October 12 - 15, 2006 for men and October 19-22, 2006 for ladies.  Transportation to Lutherhill is provided by a past Via de Cristo attendee who may also participate in the weekend with you.

The faith-building weekend consists of fifteen presentations of religious topics given by clergy or lay people.  These talks are caring, sincere, and many inspiring personal examples are given that describe how their faith improved their life.  During the weekend many faith and life-related stories are shared that help enhance your inner strength and understanding and acceptance of the Grace God so freely gives us.

During the weekend attendees enjoy great food, worship, singing, praying, sharing, and time to develop meaningful relationships with other attendees.  A primary goal of Via de Cristo is to create a better understanding of why God accepts our level of faith in him, that this is sufficient for us to receive God’s Grace, so we can have eternal life in His kingdom.

There are many Covenant members that have attended Via de Cristo, so please talk to these people to discover what the experience meant to them.  Those who have previously attended Via de Cristo meet Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm at church to further develop their faith through friendships, providing a support team they can count on.

There are also regular weekends for high school youth through the group called Logos and another Via de Cristo-supported ministry, called Kairos, that addresses the spiritual needs of prison inmates.

Consider giving Via de Cristo a chance to help build your faith.  For more information, please ask a Covenant Via de Cristo member or see the Texas Lutheran Via de Cristo web site.
