Community of Hope is a lay chaplaincy program that integrates personal spirituality and caring with prayerful Christian support. The Community of Hope program is led by Pastor Kerry and a team of trained, experienced volunteers. Each week, two lay chaplains tend to the pastoral care needs of our members and friends. The Community of Hope chaplains undergo an extensive training program, meet monthly for support and accountability, and work as teams each week. Their primary purpose is the ministry of presence, undergirded by faithful prayer. Volunteers are needed ...to help at Oakmont Nursing Home. One of the COH ministries is to manicure the nails of residents on the third Saturday of every month, but we are in need of more volunteers. If you can help, please meet at Oakmont Nursing Home, 1525 Tull Dr, off of Park Row near Mason Rd, at 9:30 am on third Saturdays. For more information on the Oakmont ministry, please contact Marian Shelton at 281-579-2888. For more information on the background and purpose of Community of Hope, please email
