Growing In Faith Through Service

Growing In Faith Through Service (G.I.F.T.S.) is a new class at Covenant that will develop into a monthly opportunity for people to learn more about themselves, their personal spiritual gifts, their personality types, and how they can best employ those gifts at Covenant and beyond.

The class, led by Pastor Nelson, will include a Bible study on spiritual gifts followed by the use of two assessment tools that will help participants claim their strengths and find channels to use them.

The philosophy behind the G.I.F.T.S. class is that God gives each of us particular gifts, abilities and interests to be used for the common good of all.  When we serve using our giftedness, our service is life-giving, fun and helps us grow.  When we serve outside of our gifts, we have little enthusiasm and experience frustration or burnout.

Our goal is to have every adult member of Covenant come through the GIFTS class as it will also become the “next step” for those who join the congregation following the Faith for Today class.
