Covenant Lutheran is committed to using drama to reach out in communicating God’s word in a fresh and new way. We believe drama can play a valuable role in the lives of believers by opening their eyes to looking at God’s word in a way they may never have seen before.
How do I get connected?
For actors, auditions are the way to get into a production. These auditions are held approximately 2 weeks before rehearsals for a production begin. Auditions are NOT negotiable. No material needs to be prepared, as scenes from the production will be on hand for cold readings, unless otherwise noted by the director of the show. You will hear a response approximately one week after auditions.
We are always in need of designers, set, prop costume, and lighting persons. If you are interested in any of these areas, you will need to fill out an application and return it to the director of the production. That person will then be in touch with you.
What are the commitments?
- A commitment to drama as a way of engaging God’s people with God’s word
- Audition for the production
- Must be willing to commit to rehearsal schedule and attend ALL rehearsals
- Attend workshop twice a year that consists of theater games, scene improvisations and cold readings of short sketches
- For non-actors- Be at rehearsals assigned by the director, coordinate all props, costumes, and staging for productions
- Have a commitment to excellence
- Have an open and fun attitude and be willing to share your talents for the glory of God.
